Miles has practiced mindfulness and meditation primarily in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for the past 11 years, as well as some practice in Zen traditions. Miles has also intermittently trained in Non-Violent Communication (NVC) since 2009 and has participated in several traditional 12-step programs and Recovery Dharma since 2020.

Miles is a Master of Social Work student at PennWest University and holds a B.A. in English. They recently completed an internship with Awaken Pittsburgh, a trauma-informed mindfulness training program offered to Pittsburgh-area students, educators, and first responders.

Their goal is to become a therapist who integrates mindfulness, meditation, spirituality, ancestral wisdom, plant wisdom, and other disciplines to support people who have a history of trauma to heal themselves. They are excited to intern with Calm Pittsburgh to continue learning from clients and supporting them in the therapeutic process.
