Her approach is to assist her clients in defining meaningful goals, providing them with the necessary tools to attain them, and fostering mental well-being. She is also willing to work with various forms of trauma and abuse — including physical, cognitive, and sexual, always ensuring her clients feel safe and understood.

Marissa has extensive experience working with different populations including adolescents and adults. She has helped individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal tendencies, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and trauma. Marissa has worked with students and has a good understanding of mental health within schools. Additionally, she has worked with adjudicated youth and children in the foster care system.

Following a person-centered approach in her work, she believes that the client is the best expert in their own life and that she is simply a guide in their journey towards achieving balance. Marissa takes pleasure in being a part of the client's story and helping them create a lifestyle that suits their needs and empowers them.

Marissa enjoys reading, exercising, and gardening. She attends monthly trauma-informed care training to learn how to best care for her clients.
