Kacy Ruffin is committed to providing therapeutic support for children, young adults and adults as they navigate the demands of adolescence. Her specialty topics include self-esteem and identity, managing life transitions, emotion regulation, perfectionism, and seeking greater fulfillment.

In her practice, Kacy models empathy and kindness and values the importance of cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care. She is passionate about being an advocate and infuses advocacy in her work. Kacy strives to foster a warm and welcoming, collaborative, direct environment, with room for exploration and curiosity. She works with clients from a strength-based lens to meet them where they are and embrace/empower each individual’s unique lived experience. Kacy is driven by introspection and sincerity and works to ensure her therapeutic support is inclusive for all to pursue change. 

With an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master of education in school counseling from Duquesne University, Kacy is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a K-12 Certified School Counselor. Kacy has worked in private and charter/cyber settings, serving a diverse student population with wide-ranging needs and varying socioeconomic backgrounds. Her goal is always to lead, advocate, and collaborate to promote student equity and access.

Along with her work as a counselor, Kacy has completed training in trauma-informed practices, crisis prevention, and suicide prevention. She is also certified in Pennsylvania’s Student Assistance Program for grades K-12.
