Julia Bodura Yost is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and clinically-trained art therapist who has been practicing in the community mental health field for nearly 10 years. Julia identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and her work is influenced by intersectional feminism and anti-racism. She is committed to providing an inclusive and safe therapeutic space and offering compassionate care to people of all ages, identities, races and cultures.
Julia has a passion for assisting individuals, couples, and families who have experienced various forms of trauma/abuse to safely navigate new relationships. Her eclectic and systems-focused approach supports each client as they examine various factors which may be impacting their lives, including but not limited to: family of origin, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, class, cultural background, education, chronic illness, grief, and patterns of trauma.
Central to her practice is a collaborative approach. Julia's clients have the opportunity to explore, reflect, and create — using a combination of talk therapy, mindfulness/movement, and art therapy techniques tailored to each client's comfort level and needs.
“I believe that healing isn’t linear, and there is no “wrong” way to participate in therapy as a client.”
